Janes Island State Park is made up of a developed mainland section and an island section that can only be reached by boat. Cabins are available to rent, and there are also campsites for those wishing to use a tent or trailer. Canoeing and kayaking are popular activities at this park.

The Somers Cove Marina has 485 slips for boats to moor, and each slip includes free fresh water connection, use of the marina swimming pool and other facilities located at Somers Cove. Charter boats, bait & tackle and fish cleaning stations for those returning with a catch are also available.

About 15 miles off the coast from Crisfield, the South Marsh Island WMA is one big marsh, with ponds and creeks dotted throughout. Waterfowl hunting is popular here, however if hunters are planning to walk on the marsh, hip or chest waders are advised.

Cedar Island is found about five miles southwest of Crisfield, MD. This park is made of nearly 3000 acres of tidal marshland, making it a good place to spot waterfowl and raptors, such as black ducks, mallards and barn owls.

Pocomoke Sound WMA is famous for it's waterfowl hunting in the autumn months and it's fishing in the summer. For the nature photographer, there is ample opportunity year round for capturing the natural beauty of Maryland, however it is best done by boat; hiking is difficult here due to the abundance of marshes.
