The Pocomoke River State Park emcompasses Shad Landing and Milburn Landing as well. There are 191 campsites at Shad Landing and amenities including hot water and showers. Milburn Landing has 32 sites, and the amenities are limited, however, each offers an opportunity for campers to enjoy these 14,753 acres of Maryland wilderness.

Set between Snow Hill and Pocomoke City, the Pocomoke River State Forest is 14,753 acres of riverine forest and swamp. There are five areas that have been designated Wildlands Areas, protecting them from development and human encroachment.

The Maryland Marine Properties WMA is a good place to watch commercial fishing vessels go by. This park is made up of 1000 acres at the mouth of the Pocomoke River, giving visitors an opportunity to spot osprey, hike sunflower-filled fields or watch the many species of birds that call the Maryland Marine Properties WMA home.
